The Centre for Employment Initiatives (CEI) continues to make a measurable impact across Asia and the Pacific, driving workforce development, gender equality, and youth employment opportunities. The newly released CEI Master References – Asia report showcases a series of recent high-impact initiatives, each designed to meet pressing labor market needs while promoting inclusivity and sustainability.
From building gender-responsive career pathways to conducting in-depth program evaluations, CEI’s work demonstrates its commitment to creating long-term social and economic change. Highlights from the report include:
- Pacific-Wide Gender Mainstreaming in Infrastructure
A structured capacity-building and internship program enabling women—particularly those with disabilities—to enter and thrive in the energy, transport, and water sectors. The program integrates mentorship, technical training, and sustainable career pathways. - Women in STEM Advancement in Indonesia
Design and implementation of programs to increase women’s participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), including scholarships, mentorship, industry placements, and awareness campaigns in partnership with government, education, and private sector stakeholders. - Vocational Skills Enhancement in Thailand
A rapid assessment of the Office of the Ombudsman’s initiative for youth vocational training, producing evidence-based recommendations to align programs with labor market needs and integrate services for NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) youth. - Career Guidance Innovation in Bhutan
Development of new approaches to career guidance and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) promotion, including toolkits, training resources, and social media campaigns tailored to Bhutan’s employment landscape. - Impact Evaluation of ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Work Programme
A multi-country evaluation assessing achievements, identifying gaps, and providing strategic recommendations for the 2021–2025 program cycle, with a focus on workforce competitiveness and social protection.
